We regularly support the work of Families in Need (FIND) Ipswich by donating food and providing volunteers.

FIND offers a lifeline to people in Ipswich and the surrounding areas, who are experiencing poverty and despair. They provide free food parcels and personal care items to help people get through a crisis, as well as furniture, bedding and other household items where the person or family has none. Some of the people in crisis supported with food parcels need help for many weeks until their benefits, wages or health are restored.

Overall, an army of over 70 volunteers from many walks of life regularly give their time freely to check and sort the donated food, collect items from local stores, make up the food parcels and deliver them.

The demand for food parcels has risen year on year and FIND now distributes an average of 70 parcels every week and even more at Christmas - totalling more than 5000 every year. For more info, and if you would like to get involved, please follow the link below.

Our church supports the ministry of Town Pastors. Town Pastors are Christian volunteers from local churches who are out in town centres on Friday and/or Saturday nights, being a positive influence on the streets and providing help and support to vulnerable people. In addition to street patrols they are supported while out on the streets by a team of people who pray for them.

Town Pastors make a difference. Whether it is giving dehydrated people some water to drink, helping people to get a taxi or waiting with vulnerable people Town Pastors support those in need. They offer a listening ear whether somebody is upset, angry or simply wants to chat.

Whether it's finding something to eat or the best way to get home, Town Pastors help. They work alongside Police, door staff and CCTV and with the agreement and support of District Councils to help keep town centres and people safe.
